AGENCY SUMMARY

The State Treasurer may promulgate regulations or other directives establishing procedures for depositing moneys in depository banks and for reporting such deposits. Code of Virginia, Title 2.2, Chapter 18, Article 1.

The Treasury Board has the power to make and enforce regulations necessary and proper to the full and complete performance of its functions under the Virginia Security for Public Deposits Act. Code of Virginia, Title 2.2, Chapter 44.

Pursuant to the Local Government Investment Pool Act, the Treasury Board has power to promulgate regulations for the efficient administration of the local government investment pool on behalf of the participating local officials. Code of Virginia, Title 2.2, Chapter 46. The board also has the power to promulgate regulations necessary and proper for the efficient administration of the pool or pools authorized by the Government Non-Arbitrage Investment Act. Code of Virginia, Title 2.2, Chapter 47.

The State Treasurer may make necessary rules and regulations to carry out the provisions of the Uniform Disposition of Unclaimed Property Act and is required to promulgate regulations pursuant to which any person asserting ownership of property remitted to the Commonwealth under this act, required to pay or deliver abandoned property under this act, or otherwise aggrieved by a decision of the administrator may file an application for administrative appeal and correction of the administrator's determination. Code of Virginia, Title 55, Chapter 11.1, Article 4. The State Treasurer is required to adopt any necessary rules and regulations to carry out the provisions of the Escheats Generally statutes. Code of Virginia, Title 55, Chapter 10.
