BOARD OF AUDIOLOGY AND SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGY
AGENCY SUMMARY
The Board of Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology is a licensing and regulatory board housed within the Department of Health Professions. For the statutory authority of the boards within the department, see Subtitle III (§ 54.1-2400 et seq.) of Title 54.1 of the Code of Virginia.
The board is authorized by Chapter 26 (§ 54.1-2600 et seq.) of Title 54.1 of the Code of Virginia to license and regulate the practice of audiology and speech-language pathology by audiologists, speech-language pathologists, and school speech-language pathologists. The board is also tasked with setting standards for licensure and professional conduct and promulgating regulations to carry out the licensing act, including the participation in the Audiology and Speech-language Pathology Interstate Compact.
