CHAPTER 19

An Act to allow the City of Staunton to waive utility connection fees in certain areas.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. § 1. That the City of Staunton may establish criteria to reduce or waive utility connection fees in the following described area located within the City of Staunton; Beginning at the intersection of Statler Boulevard and CSX Railroad near the intersection of Statler Boulevard and Richmond Avenue, those lots immediately adjacent to the northern side of the railroad with frontage on Summerson Row and Anthony Street, to also include four lots located on the northern side of Anthony Street, situated between the parcels currently operating as Allied Concrete and Staunton Wrecking; and continuing to those lots that adjoin the southern side of undeveloped Anthony Street, to include the lot at the intersection of National Avenue and Anthony Street; and continuing southwest, all of those lots to the south of CSX Railroad on the eastern side of National Avenue, then moving westerly to include the lots on the northern side of Richmond Avenue to the eastern corner of Young Street; including all of those lots on the eastern side of Young Street, inclusive of all of those lots situated between Young Street and National Avenue and Richmond Avenue and CSX Railroad. 2. That after the establishment of criteria for the reduction or waiving of utility connection fees for the area specified in this act, the Staunton City Council is authorized to adopt an ordinance to reduce or waive utility connection fees for the area.
