21VAC5-40-10. Commercial paper.
Commercial paper as referred to under § 13.1-514 A 9 of the Act, shall be considered as any note, draft, bill of exchange, or banker's acceptance which arises out of a current transaction or the proceeds of which have been or are to be used for current transactions, and which has a maturity at the time of issuance of not exceeding nine months, exclusive of days of grace, or any renewal thereof, the maturity of which is likewise limited. Commercial paper shall also exemplify the following characteristics: prime quality negotiable paper of a type not ordinarily purchased by the general public, issued to facilitate well recognized types of current operational business requirements, and of a type eligible for discounting by Federal Reserve Banks.
