§ 24.2-409.1. (For contingent effective date, see Acts 2026, cc. 992 and 1081, cl. 3) Department of Elections to transmit information pertaining to persons convicted of a felony in federal court. (2026 updated section)
Upon receipt of a notice of a felony conviction and imposition of a sentence of incarceration sent by a United States attorney pursuant to the National Voter Registration Act (52 U.S.C. § 20501 et seq.), the Department shall notify the appropriate general registrar of the conviction and sentence of incarceration.
