9VAC15-20-40. Applicability.

The environmental impact assessment requirements and criteria apply to all oil or gas well drilling operations, whether an exploratory well or a production well, proposed to occur in Tidewater Virginia. Any person proposing to drill an exploratory well or production well in Tidewater Virginia shall submit to the Department of Energy, as part of the person's application for a permit to drill such a well, an environmental impact assessment.
