§ 24.2-400.1. (For contingent effective date, see Acts 2026, cc. 992 and 1081, cl. 3) Persons entitled to register and vote; restoration of rights.
Any person who is convicted of a felony and sentenced to a period of incarceration for such felony conviction shall not be entitled to register to vote or to vote for the duration of the period of incarceration, but he shall be invested with all political rights lost as a result of the felony conviction upon release from incarceration and shall be entitled to register to vote as provided in this chapter.
